Richard Kirkby's career in photography spans 24 years. He started as a hand printer for Colourlabs International based in Newmarket, Suffolk. The lab often printed the work of Lord Lichfield and Richard believes that Lichfield's work inspired him to become a photographer. So much so that he moved to a NW London wedding studio where he first got his real life experience as a wedding photographer.
After gaining experience, Richard moved on and up working around the world aboard cruise ships. Richard says "The many years I spent on the ships defined and inspired me into the person I am and I bring it all into my service for clients today". During his time on the cruise ships, Richard managed to photograph such people as Ludovic Kennedy, Lloyd Bridges and The Princess Royal. Richard's work has been published in the USA and Bermuda.
Richard set his studio up in 2001. Based in the West Midlands, the studio is centrally located for travelling all over the UK. Richard says "we offer a unique style in photography of a contemporary mix, in with a touch of traditional. We are inspired by every wedding we photograph; your pictures will be inspired by you, for you, for your wedding".
